What makes my policy work different
I write and review policies for organizations that need documents which are usable on the frontline, defensible in governance, and grounded in real-world risk (including trauma, privacy, and cultural safety). This is not a template job.
My approach is built from the ground up and bottom down:
Ground up: what actually happens on the frontline, under pressure, with real humans and real constraints. Bottom down: what the organization is obligated to do (legislation, standards, funding rules, governance requirements) and how to make that workable in practice through business coaching and strategic planning.
The result is policy that meets legislative requirements and is customized to your organization—your service model, your workforce, your community, your risk profile.
What makes my policy work different
I can see the knots. I pick up where documents, workflows, and governance language are creating unintended harm, bottlenecks, or risk. I offer practical detangling. Not just critique—solutions: clearer decision rights, safer pathways, simpler workflows, better accountability.
I can identify colonized frameworks and translate them. Where policy is built on deficit thinking, clinical gatekeeping, or extractive consultation, I can help redesign it toward dignity, agency, cultural safety, and real access. I prioritize creating psychologically safe spaces for implementation. If staff can’t apply it in the moment, it’s not a policy—it’s paperwork.
Additionally, I provide personal growth consulting and workshop facilitation to ensure that the policies are not only theoretical but are effectively integrated and experienced by those on the ground.

Clarify the problem, including drivers such as legislation, audit findings, incidents, and funding requirements, to facilitate effective strategic planning. Confirm the policy type—whether it be a governance policy, operational policy, procedure, or guideline—before proceeding. Identify the affected cohorts, which may include staff, clients, community members, and partners, while considering the risk profile. This process can be enhanced through business coaching and personal growth consulting, ensuring that all discussions occur within psychologically safe spaces. Additionally, utilizing workshop facilitation can further aid in the clarity and decision-making process.

Map the relevant legislation, standards, and compliance obligations while engaging in business coaching to enhance strategic planning. Identify mandatory requirements versus organisational choices in the context of personal growth consulting. Flag conflicts, gaps, and high-risk areas early in a psychologically safe space during workshop facilitation.

Review current documents (policies, procedures, forms, training materials) in the context of business coaching and personal growth consulting. Map current workflow vs. desired workflow, considering what people actually do under pressure. Identify friction points such as delays, gatekeeping, risk transfer, documentation traps, and 'paper compliance' to facilitate strategic planning and create psychologically safe spaces through effective workshop facilitation.

Identify who must be consulted (frontline, leadership, governance, unions, community) to ensure effective business coaching and personal growth consulting. Design a consultation process that fosters psychologically safe spaces, ensuring it is safe, non-extractive, and fit-for-purpose. Confirm decision rights involved in strategic planning (who approves, who advises, who is informed) to facilitate smooth workshop facilitation.

Write the policy in plain language with clear must/should/may statements to support effective business coaching. Build procedures and checklists that can be used in real-time, facilitating personal growth consulting. Embed safeguards such as privacy, consent, escalation, documentation, and accountability to create psychologically safe spaces. Ensure alignment across related documents so nothing contradicts, enhancing your strategic planning and workshop facilitation efforts.

Structured review with rationale is essential in business coaching to resolve conflicts between what governance wants and what frontline teams can actually implement. By tightening the language, we ensure it's defensible and usable, creating psychologically safe spaces for effective strategic planning and workshop facilitation.

Prepare the board/exec brief: outline what has changed, why these changes are necessary, the associated risks, and the implementation needs. This document will support approval workflows and version control, ensuring that we create psychologically safe spaces for all stakeholders involved. Additionally, as part of our strategic planning, we will integrate elements from our business coaching and personal growth consulting strategies, along with effective workshop facilitation.

One-page policy summarizing the approach for business coaching and personal growth consulting. This includes a staff-facing procedure/checklist to ensure the creation of psychologically safe spaces. Additionally, templates/forms such as an incident log, consent form, and escalation pathway are provided to support strategic planning. Optional training sessions and/or rollout communications can also be arranged, alongside workshop facilitation to enhance team engagement.

Define what 'working' looks like by identifying observable indicators beyond just KPIs, especially in the context of business coaching and personal growth consulting. Additionally, set review triggers such as incidents, audits, or legislative changes and establish review dates to ensure a psychologically safe space during strategic planning and workshop facilitation.
